To Calais

On 11th September we headed for Calais to spend our last night in France in the Cité Europe car park.

I continued to amuse myself by recording the journey.

We crossed the Seine at Rouen

I don't know which town this is as we passed through many like it but it looks like the weather is brightening up a bit.

By the time we reached Cité Europe there was quite a lot of blue sky'

Being Sunday afternoon the place was deserted, though . . .

restaurants and bars, but not shops, were open inside. The mock period shop fronts were quite a bizarre contrast to the modern exterior. Also bizarre was the idea of coming to this place on a Sunday afternoon for a drink or meal. Not many people were doing that so we did our bit for the local economy by eating there ourselves.
