On the way to Martel we stopped off at Les Quatres Routes: a small town with a railway station and a wine store where we used to buy wine en vrac (i.e. in bulk in our own container).
Apart from that it has little of interest but I'd heard there was an aire here which I wanted to check out. The photo above shows the wine store, with the red canopy and windows, and the sign pointing to the camping and the aire de camping car. You can also see the barrier for the level crossing, so, all points of interest in one not very interesting photo!
By following the signs we came across the municipal campsite just outside town. There were two occupants, a motorhome and a caravan, and John found a notice telling you to ring a certain number if you wanted to stay there. Outside the campsite was a place for camping cars to get fresh water and dump waste. Both these services were free. We couldn't see anywhere to park overnight though unless you used the campsite.
On to Martel where we've enjoyed lunch more than once at Plein Sud, but today, being Lundi, it was closed.
