Villandry - a chateau with brassicas

Villandry was our next chateau stop. We stayed on Villandry's aire de service de camping-car along with 26 other free-loaders, thanks to the municipality. Chris will supply pictures of this vehicular event.

This chateau is noted for its ecologically sound gardening credentials - water conservation and such.
Chris had not yet been round the splendid apartments of this minor palace, so we visited the chateau properly this time and she will post her photos of the domestic simplicity of a by-gone age.
I'm just impressed by the brassicas and the alliums. How do they grow cabbages that well? And leeks so uniformly. Well first they keep the public out of the growing area.
I looked down and thought it was rather Last Year in Marienbad.
