Four days in Dorset

We left Slimbridge on the Wednesday morning and a couple of hours or so later booked in at The Red Lion CS at  Winfrith Newburgh.
.

Then we drove straight on to Dan & Harriet's where the girls soon got together for trampolining..

 ..and Wiiing!
and the grown-ups just hung out for the rest of the day.

Next day, Thursday, we spent the day at Studland beach.

This is the third year we've taken Ez to Dorset in the summer holidays and each year we've had a day of lovely weather on this beach.  By now Ez will be thinking it's compulsory!

.John, who is not keen on beaches or sitting around doing nothing, always gets busy digging a big hole, usually with some kind of fortifications.  The girls probably think he's doing it for them.

On the Friday Dan was going to bring the girls to our campsite with their bikes while Harriet painted in the studio.  Instead, the pool arrived a few weeks earlier than expected so the morning was spent assembling it...

... and starting to fill it with water.

It was left to fill in the afternoon while we went to Pick Your Own fruiting at a local garden centre.

In the evening we ate out at 'our place'...

...The Red Lion.

Before we went away we checked the forecasts and they were full of warnings about horrendous weather all over the country.  We didn't experience any of this until the Saturday, which was the day of the annual trailer rides.  It was raining medium heavily even before we left the village green for what was about a 45 minutes ride on bales of hay along farm tracks.  Maybe more of this later.
