Potatothon Day at Keb's (aka The Sportsman)

Yesterday we went to Potato Sunday at the Sportsman pub on Keb Lane near Blackshawhead. It's the haunt of those Optimistic Gardeners at Altitude who have already featured on Gardeners' Question Time on the wireless. Above is their leader, Jan and below their other leader, Jan - the geezer in the hat. He knows potatoes inside out.

As you can prolly tell from from the photo below where Jan is explaining to another Optimistic geezer what's the score with blight.

They had a lot of potatoes left over from the main sale at the Good Shepherd, Mytholmroyd the day before. Bags of spuds below. Jan said that Christine's potato bread was much appreciated. This made her laugh.

More serious potato cooks presented their efforts at Keb's to enter a competition. These were seriously good dishes and judging by Jan was said to be so difficult it involved devouring most of the display.
