The cats have been through a weird phase over the last 6 months or more. They both became extremely reluctant to walk on the floor and wanted to be up as high as they could: on the table, windowsill, cupboards etc. They would be quite manic in leaping from one item of furniture to another. I googled something like 'cats won't go on the carpet' and discovered this is a known phenomenon. The vet confirmed this but had no explanation. At Christmas I found Lily sleeping on the floor and blogged it. Gradually since then this has become more common and last week they spent a lot of time on the floor, much of it fighting with each other. They haven't given up their manic dashes and leaps though.
