Whilst Nick Green is on a well-earned holiday in sunny France, various IET volunteers have been allocated tasks that he would have done. One of those I accepted was to watch for potato blight. We went up the moors to Gorpley at around 300 m. or 984 ft. if you prefer. Here, the FJF team have cultivated a plot for potato growing. There are two still quite large heaps of compost left over that we can use for the next planting. The potatoes seem to be growing well with no sign of blight yet. I will be impressed if they crop well at that height above sea level.

The labels that Nick Green had made look very good I think. All our sites should be well logoed up.

It wasn't actually raining.
