The above Thomas Ward 'Wardonia' grapefruit knife has not been used for about 30 years. This weekend I thought it would make an excellent avocado knife. It does. I wonder why the use of a curved knife to take the fruit out of half an avocado had not occurred to me in all that time?
This RSPB recommended bird feeder is supposed to be proof against quite a lot of creatures that aren't birds. Our local rodents must be either very hungry this summer or the bird mix I use is well tasty.

To take the stone out of an avocado. Cut the avo in half horizontally using a sharp knife. Then chop into the stone using an axelike motion. A slight twist, and it's out. Grapefruit knives are for grapefruit. Thomas Ward is spinning in his internment..........
