Having finished afternoon tea, our party including David, Kathy and Chris set-off to find the spot from which Harriet had painted a view of the Clayesmore lake. This picture now hangs on Kathy & David's living room wall.
It was a beautiful Spring afternoon, but this was no easy task. It's now several years since the picture was painted - trees grow and sometimes fall or are cut down. Then there is the artist's interpretation; the light quality that day and so forth.
First she thought Harriet might have painted from here.
After visiting every accessible viewing spot, the painting is definitely a view across this lake, but from which vantage point Kathy was not really sure.
There seemed to be many possibilities.
David did not accompany us around the lake. He found a seat and watched the school cricket teams, until they went in for tea.
We went to Clayesmore with Kathy and David in their car, so the motorhome shown here is not ours but we were intrigued by it.
