We were driving from St Vaast to a campsite at Pointe de Brick on the route near to Cherbourg so it seemed sensible on such a lovely sunny day to call at the wonderful Pointe de Barfleur on the Normandy coast. It's a fairly popular tourist spot and a nature reserve with lots of wild flowers and interesting birds.
There is a causeway to walk to the lighthouse complex which will be defended by the French military if you try to enter it.
It is an extremely large and tall lighthouse complex on an exciting coastline.
There were several motorhomes at the site neatly parked amongst the wild flowers.
