Second Day With St Vast the Huge

This is a view of our campsite showing it to total disadvantage. It was in fact very nice, clean, tidy and well-appointed, but viewed from a balade which goes round the campsite to the Vauban fort at La Hougue the place looks a mess.

We like Vauban forts and this is one with a moat and drawbridge. It is still military property and will be defended if you try to walk inside.

These are two photos of the Hôtel de France and Les Fuchsias restaurant at which Chris had her birthday present dinner from Bren and Marsha. All very nice. We had a lovely evening and ate well.

There are a lot of trendy artists in St. Vaast and here they show how to imaginatively install books in a window and decorate crumbling stucco.
