Today we left Les Roches de Condrieu and made our way to Avignon.
For a change we didn't take the toll road, which meant our journey took over four hours instead of about two. It did mean we had better views of the countryside we were travelling through.
We spent a lot of time criss-crossing The Rhône. In this view we are travelling alongside it.
Here we are on a bridge in Avignon, but not The Bridge....
....which we could see on our left.
We spent a while walking along the riverbank - in the sunshine!

We walked into the walled city of Avignon, and here John is looking for a restaurant in which he had a memorable meal in 1989. We couldn't find it.

Thanks Jude, we didn't learn of her death until we arrived at our campsite near Aix on Tuesday.
