Ludlow

 Two weeks ago we spent three nights at a campsite just south of Ludlow.

 John had been there a few times in the past but it was my first visit.

We spent time walking around the town looking in shops, ...

... stopping for coffee and lunch,

and getting a general feel of the place.

We even bought a runner for the downstairs 'corridor'.

We also had a great walk, starting from the castle.

 Above is the view across the valley from behind the castle.  That isn't our motorhome in the distance, we parked in a very convenient car park in the town.

We descended into the valley, and would have had lunch at a café with this view of the river, if we hadn't already had lunch at a pub in the town.

We crossed the river...

and followed a path on the other side.

This took us up...

...through woodland...

 ...and along the the route of the river, with a view of the castle and town.

The campsite, Ludlow Touring Park, is new and we were there on a promotional 'three nights for the price of two' offer.   Given its newness, and the time of year, it wasn't exactly full.  On the morning we were due to leave we had a walk around the site and took this photo.  Ours is the van on the right.  Facilitywise it was a very good campsite, with prices to match.  I doubt we'd go there at full price.

On the journey home we stopped in a queue of traffic at a level crossing and I took this photo of a bus. John said 'Is that a Bristol lowdecker?'
