As on so many mornings it was dull and rainy when we headed for Provins the next day.
Here the aire had room for about 20 motorhomes, and again was free. It was also right next to a very good tourist information office where they gave us maps and told us about the various historical attractions, their opening times and whether they were free or not. At the time we arrived it was raining, on and off, and we might well have used this information to find places to stay under cover.
But it gradually dried up, and even brightened up, so we mainly just enjoyed wandering around this medieval town.
There was a sweet little square where we ate pastries, and later an ice cream.
In the lower part of the town we had lunch (before the pastries and ice cream).
and looked around a church.
Later we had great views of the surrounding countryside ...
when we walked around the ramparts. I hope John posts his eagle picture taken here.
