From Nancy to Paris 1

On 1st October, after four nights at Nancy we next wanted to head to Paris in several short hops.  Using the ACSI book and All the Aires - France we shortlisted a few places and started on the road.

The first place was an aire* near the northern shores of Lac du Der, at a place called Ste Marie du Lac Nuisement.

From this view you can just about see some of the motorhomes on the aire.

There were some nice short walks nearby but not a lot else.

This was fine by us, after all that culture at Nancy some quiet strolls in the sunshine were just what we needed.

* 'Aire' is short for Aire de stationnement camping-car, or somewhere for parking motorhomes.  Usually this includes overnight parking and also the provision of services, i.e.  you can fill up with fresh water, dump waste water, empty the toilet cassette and even charge up batteries with electricity.

This aire was free to stay at and had spaces for 6 motorhomes.  There was a charge for water and electricity, which we didn't need, and free to empty waste, so it cost us nothing.
