We went up to Jan & Jan's on the aftetnoon before we went to Scotland. They have some new apple trees which are, at the moment, so small that the plastic guards to protect them from rabbits were almost entirely enclosing them.
John and Jan shortened the tree guards and also took off some of the lower growth.
Hopefully the rabbits won't be able to jump up to reach the leaves now freed at the tops of the guards
The hens didn't show much interest in the apple trees. Here they are gathered around Jan's sound-proofed studio which is home to his drums.
