The Blue Pool

For my birthday outing I wanted to visit The Blue Pool near Wareham. www.bluepooltearooms.co.uk

The pool is in an old clay pit and is noted for its changing colours. Here is Harriet taking up a similar pose to that of Dorelia in Augustus John's The Blue Pool.

The pool is surrounded by woodland walks. These were made more interesting for the girls because models of squirrels and birds had been placed in the trees at various points and they could note down those they spotted and get a certificate to prove it.

Here The Blue Pool is looking more green....

..... and here quite blue.

A lot of trees have grown since this picture of The Blue Pool was painted.
