It was pouring with rain in the upper Calder Valley this morning, so Chris decided we would go to Todds in Lostock Hall and search for a new motorhome. We were there about three hours and the one she had identified off of their web site was a second hand AS Symbol ES.

Really we thought it was a bit pokey. Putting the beds together was a jigsaw puzzle. We were quite taken with a McLouis Fiat. It had a fixed bed at the back and lots of room. As you might expect the spec was lower than you find in an AS.

Ken the salesman who sold us our Auto-Sleeper Medallion was wondering why we would want to change. 'Four belted seats and LEZ compliance' we said. 'What's that?' So we all looked it up on howtobuggeruplondon.gov.uk to see if these vans were LEZ compliant and they were. (In fact, what we found out later is that his excellency Mayor Boris Johnson had merely extended exemption, well, for our class of non-compliant VW diesel engine to be truthful).
Then he showed us this new Swift Mondial EL (end lounge) for about £40,000. It was so cool, if a panel van conversion, rather than coach built. Four belted seats which can be put in a lounge configuration and in the end lounge area you could leave the table up or actually leave the bed up and dine at the front end. Yes I wanted this. Chris is now looking up a lower price. In fact Todds appear to be offering it at the lowest price in the country, that we can find. And Ken offered us £17,000 for the old Medallion - £1,000 less than last year. Bugger!
