The amazing thing is that any gardening happened at all. Today was advertised as moderate continuous rain. It didn't rain and was very sunny for the Upper Calder Valley, despite a strong wind. So a much was achieved. The rest of the plants purchased at 'The Barn' the weekend before were planted; many specimens were trans-planted; some were thrown out - in particular two enormous grasses that were swamping the Sorbus Kashmiriana. The shady boarder is much better with the addition of a path.
