more laters ) This seems to be the city in which art nouveau first? flourished and certain elements of modernism in design were developed. However, that is against the splendid classical and baroque of Stanislas Square.
Where one may eat heartily and relatively inexpensively at Suzette's café.
We were not directed to any art nouveau architectural trail and so just came across buildings such as this bank on rue Poincaré. That also happened to have the Excelsior on it's corner. We took afternoon tea in an art nouveau ambiance by Gruber and Prouvé. (
