Shrewsbery's main, and very large, park is the Quarry. Within it is a little gem - The Dingle, where as we've observed before, Darwin caught newts.
Then lo! one is transported back a century to the days of full municipal bedding plants. We did not see this last September as it had all been taken up ready for winter. We noted at RHS Tatton show that municipal planting of the old bedding school style seems to be all the go nowadays.
They've made quite a splendid show of it and it's extremely well-tended. Other Faxters at our rally were suitably impressed too.
