It's Christmas Day! Become a tradition with us to deck the house with holly (Ilex aquafolium 'Golden King' in this case) and some kind of ivy on Christmas Eve. So I did that earlier, around dusk in fact after Don Myers and one of his sons, Fergal, left. They stopped by for a mince pie and a drink after a walk they'd be having. Anyway this tradition, it was Harriet's idea back in the last century at Stubbing House West in Hebden Bridge and she went out into my garden and brought in armfulls of greenery. Ah the 20th century, what a delight.
