The Cat Sat On The Mat

Well, she slept on the carpet.

This is notable because for several months now both Potzo and Lily have avoided the floor as if it was poison. They leap from chair, to table, to sideboard to cupboard to reach the windowsill or balustrade, where they settle to sleep. We've considered all sorts of explanations, including them not liking the 'new' carpet, but we've had that a year now and for about the first 8 months they were fine with it. We've googled it and found that other people have also been puzzled by this strange cat behaviour. Last time Potzo was taken to the vet we asked about this and it is apparently a known phenomemon, but with no explanation. On Christmas day, when we were on the floor with Esmé opening presents Potzo and Lily did a bit of weaving about on the floor amongst us. Later, in the quiet of the evening, I noticed Lily asleep on the floor and took this photo to prove it to John.
