Last Weekend

Dan, Harriet,
Dorelia and
Maeve came to stay.
They arrived in the early hours of Friday and went straight to bed.
Later on the Friday we all went into Hebden, where the above photos were taken.
On the Saturday John, Dory, Maeve and I went for a walk along the canal. Here's Maeve about to walk past the construction that will that evening become the local bonfire.
Meanwhile Dan and Harriet went off to Liverpool to attend the National Cancer Research Institute conference. Harriet's Breast Cancer Life exhibition was showing there and she was due to give a talk on the Sunday. See more about Breast Cancer Life on Harriet's blog.
We walked as far as the Incredible Edible Todmorden site at Walsden, where we picked some carrots from John's raised bed.
The girls then tried pumping water.
Christian, Sophie-Anna and Esmé came over to join us in the afternoon and we all went to see the bonfire and fireworks outside the church, about 100yds from our door.
Esmé stayed overnight and on the Sunday we went to Tod park.

and the playground
In the afternoon John helped Dory with her homework while Maeve and Esmé made a den downstairs in the study.
