Here's something we did earlier -
Dory, Harriet & Maeve on the express into York.
At Yorik museum Maeve tries on a very heavy replica of a Viking helmet. She'd been a little scared of the atmosphere in the museum. One rides through it on what I can only call a ski-lift and the smell of variegated rubbish is pretty strong.
The girls were not too impressed by the splendour of the Minster. And I kind of understand why. It is huge and over-whelming at first. Not helped by the demand for a very large entrance payment (unless praying) and a man in a USSR hat, which he was not being told to remove! Moving on, the girls were more interested in possible water sports on the pavé of the City Art Gallery than the fine art within - still they were setting up the Spencer show for the following week.
