Burrs Country Park Caravan Club site is new and well-run. It is within the Park itself and so access to this re-claimed industrial site is really easy. Wally the 'van parked up at pitch number 62 - really close to the ablution block. It's a splendid site for services and what with the stunning view of locos working the East Lancashire Railway, what more could one want?

A main feature of Burrs Country Park is dog walking.

The Irwell looking fine in the late afternoon sun. In its industrial past the mill on the Burrs site took water from the Irwell for textile processing in the manufactory.

We saw a steam loco on Friday hauling a 4 carriage set down then up the East Lancashire Railway between Bury and Rawtenstall. Obviously, camera not to hand!
