We resumed our canal walks, though initially I couldn't go very far because of my knee
I (Chris) went on a Northlight Studios' trip to Liverpool to the Walker and the Tate Galleries. The main purpose was to see the Jackson Pollock exhibition at the Tate but I was able to photograph a couple of paintings in the Walker. The Roger Hilton above...
…and the Degas. Very different, but these happened to be the ones that struck me on this visit.
Outside the Walker was a parked motorhome. It's always good, for future reference, to know where it's possible to park one, so a photo seemed a good idea.
On another canal walk we came across two cows from Incredible Farm who had knocked over their water containers. John refilled one from a stream.
Autumn colours in the garden, and elsewhere are really striking. This was on 21st Oct.
Ebony came to stay overnight last weekend. On the Sunday we walked to Bottom's Mill and Riggs Garden Centre, where she was fascinated by the tropical fish.
Back home she set up shop and we had to buy lots of things several times over.
On Monday we did the usual canal walk that we didn't do on Sunday. More spectacular Autumn colours.
On Wednesday we picked up Esmé and took her for a meal at The Dusty Miller pub in Mytholmroyd before bringing her home for an overnight stay. In the pub she found she could push her straw through holes in the ice in her drink. She called this an 'ice kebab'. Back home she wanted to make another one so John heated up a nail on the gas hob to pierce a hole through the ice from our freezer.
On the Thursday she dressed a doll in stretchy bandages and decorated it beautifully with felt tip pens. This was apparently part of her homework and somehow relates to an Amazon rain forest project. The doll represents a bird (I think) and has a feather headdress and a tail of multicoloured ribbons. Nana helped a bit.

Later she made a chocolate bar with dark, white and milk chocolate.
