We left Des Chevrets on Saturday 10 May for Carnac on the southern coast of the Brittany peninsular. On the way we pulled into the small town of Elven for luncheon because All The Aires France indicated there was one there. However almost immediately we saw this sign-posted aire to the right.
We drove in and used the drain, though not the Flot Blue service point. In the background to the right is a single storey building. What is it? We looked round and to the rear of the site were what appeared to be old campsite pitches with the customary little hedges. It was over-grown. People who like playing with cars had been cruising round the place and churned it up a lot. But we thought it's an old municipal campsite and that building was the sanitary block.
Well it's quite a nice garden now in which one can park for luncheon. We don't know if overnighting is allowed as there were no signs at all. The Faxters state emphatically that in France if it isn't forbidden on a big notice, you can do it. However this place has a residential entrance now, with houses and real people living there.
