'Flooding' of Church Walk

These two photos were taken three days apart, last week showing how the lane outside our house has become progressively more flooded or waterlogged. It is deeply rutted and has many potholes along its length of about 200 metres from Hollins Meadow to the church are parking. It's a private road although used as a thoroughfare by anyone who knows it's there.

The surface water is now coming into our garden and the wash from speeding vehicles goes through our fence on the left.
We need to 'do something' and have contacted the property manager of the Diocese of Wakefield. She has instructed solicitors to establish ownership, which seems like a beginning. In the meantime, when the waters recede I shall try some direct action reparations.
Lily has to circumvent that flood to visit her favourite haunts, but this evening just ignores it all and watches geese on the canal. Potzo can't be bothered to go outside at all.
