Cow Club

On 19 March I went up to Melling's Farm near Gorpley off the Bacup Rd. That's where Nick's Cow Club meets. He has conned a diary farmer to loan him a dexter cow with the unlikely name of Leonidas. It's going to be halter trained as you can see. It, and friends or relations, will be kept and shown at the IF site. Also it will go up to Lumbutts for grazing.
It was a fine afternoon across the upper Calder Valley. Mike is keeping his wretched bitch under control.
The dexter is an Irish breed known for short legs, small overall stature and a very placid nature. Meat quality is rated excellent.
