Local Shopping in Bowness

This is our last day in the Lakes. After the monumental downpour of the morning we walked out into Bowness for local treat shopping. The sweet shop above was a gem of finest Pontefract cakes, stem ginger and chocolate covered ginger - and much more.
Opposite we thought the Ruskin might be a place for lunch, but it did not seem inviting inside.
On the other corner was a lovely curved shop front now converted into a trendy architect's office.
You can never have too many baskets. In the left hand background is the NT Beatrix Potter approved 'Nursery Shop'. Now I can surmise that BP would have looked at the window display and said 'Too pink, too girly. Why are you turning away half the paying little people?'
And here at Hutton's chocolatiers purchases were made of the finest chocolate assortments known to man, soon to be delivered to Liz, for tomorrow we are for Garstang and home.
