Local Shops For Local People

On Friday 31 January Bob & Liz came to visit us at Meathop Fell. They drove us into Grange-over-Sands about two miles away. It was pouring with rain hence we repaired immediately to a refreshment room over-looking the railway and Morecambe Bay, if only we could see them.

To the right of Chris's head the distant is off for something or other and below a revolting DMU trundles through. Never before have I visited a refreshment room with dead flowers as a table decoration, although at Abbot Hall on Thursday's visit, a student piece really was a still life photograph of dead flowers. Lazy bugger.
The USP of Grange is its range of local shops. All had sales; all were open.
And chiefest of these local shops is Lancasters (no green grocer's[s'] apostrophes for them). But I don't trust a place that only sells such large keys especially when Lurch is the shop assistant (though he was only one of six in attendance when we called).
Nothing daunted, Bob enters the emporium ...
Hardware, shoes, hats, equipment from a bygone age of service and servility ...
I don't think anyone in this place has even an NVQ level 1 in window dressing.

Chris likes to have warm dry feet and this winter wellington boots would help. Chris found Grub Boots at £75 in her size. There's been a run on stout rubber boots, as uncle Monty would say.
