The old infants school next to the church at the end of our lane has been empty since long before we moved here. For a while there has been some development going on to turn the building into 6 apartments. Currently the landscaping is taking place. The area that was the school playground, and has been used by the church as an extra parking area, will be allocated as 12 parking spaces, 2 for each apartment. We have used the route through the playground as an alternative exit from Church Walk if the car was pointing that way, but it is now looking like we may not be able to use it. Two gates have recently been put up, a small one for pedestrians and a larger one for vehicles. The question is: will this gate be locked, and if so, who will have the key?

The logs we had delivered this week is even more sodden that the last lot. We might have to change suppliers if they can't protect it from the weather better than this. John has taken to drastic drying methods, which I think I'll photograph and blog.
Potzo spends a lot of time sitting on a chair downstairs in the study / cat room. As he won't use the cat flap anymore I try to keep him acquainted with the outside world by opening the door and hoping he'll go out.
Sometimes he does. I usually then close the door and eventually let him back in again at any one of four doorways. The weather must be another deterrent for him at the moment but I'm hoping that if he doesn't completely lose his enjoyment of being outside he might spend more time outside in the summer and might even learn to use the cat flap.
