The Knaus

Ok, so John has mentioned the Knaus, I'd better explain.  For a while we'd been thinking of getting a motorhome with a fixed bed, more comfortable seats and more work space in the kitchen area.  But such a vehicle still needed to fit on our short drive and be able to be backed onto it from our narrow lane.  When we saw this Knaus on the Lowdhams website we thought we'd go and have a look.
Initial impressions were favourable so a couple of days later we went back for a test drive.  The drive was to be to our house so we could check how well we could make the turn from the lane and fit on the   drive.
John managed to do the turn very well, especially for a first attempt.  However it is a bit tight so we thought it better to get rid of the pointless wooden gate post just to give a bit more room.

Here's the Knaus on the drive, leaving just enough room to open the up-and-over garage door. Details were agreed and we pick it up on 7th August.  This means our trip next week to Dorset will be our last in the Hymer, and our visit to London, then on to Kent and France, in mid August, will be our first in the Knaus.
