On Thursday we drove down to Den & Roy's house in Erith. Friday afternoon it was Wallie's funeral ... a cold, dull day.
28 February 1926 - 6 February 2013, aged 86
The undertakers were Albin's of Bermondsey who have directed the funerals of Eddie, Ellen (Chris's father and mother), Maud (Wallie's and Ellen's sister) and Kit (Eddie's sister) to my knowledge. Barry of Albin's leads the cortege into the precincts of the West Chapel at Falconwood, Avery Hill.
I think four of the male mourners felt able to help shoulder the coffin into the chapel.
We know there are some people who will see this blog, but could not be present at the funeral. They might like to see their beautiful sprays of flowers below. First Brendan and Marsha's spray.
A general view ... with ours right behind the label and as unfunerial a colour assortment as we could think.
Wallie's nephew, Derek and his family sent this spray.
This is much better than giving money to medical charities that don't actually cure anything, says Johnny, semper dolens.
