We Won't Sell Out Despite Critical Acclaim

Sight and Sound's grand-dame of the movie, Heather Pritchard, has reviewed the uTube video Bob made the other week. It's worth printing in full, I think.

The Cannes Film festival is reeling today following the debut of  two new film makers from the North West of England.

Bollywood Productions has taken the festival by storm with its erudite and intriguing short film on the vagaries of the provision of rail transport in the tranquil setting of the English Lake District.

Clearly demonstrating a passion for the railways the film manages to evoke the social inequalities inherent in railway timetables drawn up to satisfy the letter of the legislative framework requiring the provision of affordable transport to the working man whilst ensuring the growth of profit margins for the railway companies. Set against the backdrop of the moral indignation of no less a person than the Poet Laureate whose predictions of  impending doom attendant upon  the establishment of a railway system in his beloved Lakeland were broadcast to the privileged readers of the broadsheet press the film makes its not inconsiderable mark with the wry humour which is the hallmark of these newcomers to the world of contemporary film making
