Today we went to Walsden polytunnel to put boxes of seedlings outside for hardening-off. However, Nick had helpfully and kindly already done it. We all agreed those seedlings could now stay outside until collected on Saturday morning. They are to be planted around the town centre beds at the college and the railway station. Good luck to them. Some of those beds face due north east! They're mainly brassicas and broad beans at the moment. Very hardy. The broad beans are scarlet, so Nick is keen to see if the restaurants are interested in buying the flowers for culinary purposes - like the courgette flowers. He says broad bean flowers taste very nize.
Then we went to Gaby's and I cut out a lot of the crab apple which was over-hanging the pavement and next door. Chris gathered up the pruning. It's going to Eastwood dump.
I was determined not to vote today. However Chris was going and I have to think that in some far from uncivilized places people are still fighting for the right to free elections and representation. They say we get the whatever we deserve. But did we really deserve Thatcher and Murdoch?
