Exercising the Motorhome

The motorhome doesn't like standing around doing nothing. Even if we're not going off overnight it needs to be driven for at least half an hour or so every couple of weeks. Sometimes we make this an excuse for a daytrip.
For some time I'd been wanting to go to the Lancashire village of Dunsop Bridge. I'd heard there was good motorhome parking there, and there was. No height barrier, no charge, and it's own brick built loos so we didn't have to bother with the motorhome cassette loo.
The weather was cold but bright and we walked first alongside the river Dunsop.

We were back at the village, said to be in the centre of Britain, by lunchtime.

John is resting outside the Post Office,
Which doubles, or trebles, as the village shop and cafe. Here, Lynne, a friend we usually go for Sunday morning walks with, bought us some buttered scones. We took them back to the motorhome as part of our lunch.
After lunch we had a second walk along the river Hodder this time.
John and Lynne find crab apples under a tree.

We cross the Hodder at a pipeline bridge
It was a fantastic day and made a real change from our usual Sunday morning walk along the Rochdale canal.
