The weather cleared up on 28 september so we went out in the van to see the villa of our friends Diane & Adrian. Diane and I went to the same school and were born on the same day. She is 20 minutes older than I am!
Above is the shop and restaurant of La Chapelle, a tiny village of around 200 people. It's a lovely little place. Diner was great, and really inexpensive.
The church is huge.
And here is their fine villa of style, with an upper window left open by someone.
On Diane's advice we drove to Varengeville to see the church on the cliff where Braque is buried - he designed these windows incidentally.

Monet and several other impressionists stayed here or nearby and there's a signed walk so you can appreciate the grande artistic cultural heritage of France.
Installationists have put in this custom officer's cabin, seeing how the original Manet painted has been demolished.
