On 31 October which is my birthday I like to do something different.
The Woodland Trust is trying to buy a parcel of land at Holmes House Woods, near Keighley. It is between two parcels of ancient woodland that are protected and sensitively managed. If that purchase is successful the Woodland Trust can manage this land to secure ancient woodland here in the high Pennines for the future.
The UK has the least percentage of its landmass as ancient woodland (continuous woodland since 16th century), or even 'woodland' of any EU member.
Before sending a donation to Woodland Trust to help purchase that land I wanted to have a look at it.
I shall be making a donation.
