For our second trip in the new van we spent 3 nights at Bleasedale, in the Forest of Bowland. A few miles away live Dave & Julie, friends of John from early days at Lancaster University. On the day we arrived (Tuesday 8th March) Dave picked us up and took us home to his house for lunch of Parsnip Pie (a Nigel Slater recipe) and we met Morse, the friendly black labrador. Unfortunately, we didn't meet Julie as she was at work. She did, however, bake a lovely raspberry and cream filled Victoria sponge, of which John and I ate several slices. Thanks Julie.
The next day friends Bob & Liz who live in nearby Garstang, visited us for lunch and we went for a local walk (picture above). It started out drizzly but soon improved. Then, as soon as we were back at the van it started to pour.
On Thursday, after fish and chips in Great Eccleston, Dave took us to the site of a bronze age stone circle, above.

On the way home on Friday we called at Bob and Liz's, where we had lunch of Lasagne. Thanks, it's our turn to feed you next Bob and Liz.
