Frome Water Meadows

The Frome. A lane led down from the campsite to the south bank of the Frome through what might have been water meadows. There was no access to the banks of the Frome at this point, but one could walk along one of the streams that was joining it.

These sheep and lambs were in a large field between the tiny hamlet of Bindon, where the abbey was, and Wool itself.

Our path led back into Wool via the church.

In the afternoon I went for a walk to New Buildings on my own. This walk was out of town and over cultivated down land and then back to Wool. The stream runs through a lovely lane in Wool.

In defiance of the weather forecast this morning was bright dry and
clear.
It warmed up by afternoon. First we walked down to the Frome through the drainage ditches of which this stream is a larger example. No access to the river bank itself so we walked through Wool to find the ruins of Bindon Abbey. It looks like Thomas Cromwell's privatiation worked a treat here. So we set out over the field path past lambs a-gamboling to Wool church.

Chris's foot is playing up on account of stubbing it on a door jamb two days ago. Limped home.

Last night we found the pump wouldn't prime. Sucking didn't making the water flow.
Ike replied to our plea for pump priming advice only to say he is in a similar fix and to contemplate a large sum.
