We were hoping to meet up in Harrogate with our friends Hannah, David and Owen however that was not to be so we pitched up at the CCC site near Boroughbridge -though it is more pertinent to tell that it is rather nearer the A1 than Boroughbridge and opposite an industrial estate which seems to have deliveries all night. We were on a service pitch and it would have actually been a lot quieter at the back of the site next to the river Ure. There is fishing on site Bob. You'd love it.

What we actually did was go round Harlow Carr RHS gardens a couple of times and I purchase about £100 of plants which was prolly extravagant and unnecessary really.

The 'winter interest' walk was well presented with the usually RHS thoroughness and sickening tidiness for a gardener such as myself who cannot keep things tidy or basically clear up.

There'll be no need to name any of these specimens as it's pretty obvious what you are looking at and anyway the alpines are labelled.

These displays are exceptional. I try rather poorly to copy this style in my little rockeries.

This was an exquisite corner of the alpine house. I am still congratulating myself on obscuring the plumbing which mars the view on the middle far right. Out-of-shot is a whole pile of taps and stuff plumbers like.
