Dorset Village Needs Restoration

One was intrigued to learn from English Heritage magazine (2009, July) 'Heritage Today', that a Dorset village is in need of a restoration project because one of its houses is rather run-down. We wonder what, from the whole of this diverse and beautiful county, had drawn the EH reporter to such a small village that cannot even boast a through road as such.
Ah ha, there is deprivation and boredom in this rural idyll, but it sure doesn't look like Hyde Road, Gorton to me.
All in all it's rather Jude the fairly Obscure.

Here is Hyde Road, Gorton for a visual comparison and to get a measure of what goes on visit Gorton.

Though things could have moved on, so to speak if this light railway scheme of the 1980s had proceeded.
