Some Repairs Are Completed

On Friday the motorhome went into C&S Caravans of Accrington to have a new awning fitted and for the re-attachment of the off-side rear GRP pillar. The latter is an article of utter uselessness intended to lend artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing motorhome (as W S Gilbert remarked on the arrival of his Knaus Sun Ti 600 in 1883).
As you can see from the photograph of that repair, there is nothing to see - which is exactly as it ought to be.
The awing is another matter. We choose Ocean Blue for no particular reason, but didn't roll the thing out fully as it was about to rain and the Fiamma instructions tell you not to use the awning in rain or wind. But then goes on to tell you about how to do that if you follow other rules: awning at an angle theta to the horizontal where theta is less than 0. OK? If it's windy, tie the awning down with strong thongs thrown over the awning and drive into the earth massively long nails through holes in the feet of the legs. It has a whiff of catholicism about it - rules that may be vired if you've bought an indulgence; the other one's obvious.
