Victorian Christmas Cake

I baked the usual Delia's favourite Christmas cake in November, but I didn't really like the result. So I tried the Mary Berry Victorian Christmas cake for the first time. It's so good we're eating it now. It's really tedious to make what with chopping and washing and drying the glacé cherries and fresh pineapple. Then snipping tons of RtoE apricots.
Delia's effort is still being force-fed Morrison's cheapest brandy.
Chris and I have bought our joint present already and installed it. An Epson Perfection V500 photo scanner to play with.
I have done penance by spending three hours at Ferney Lee this morning hand chopping soaking wet not composted veg tops and mixing in 11 bags of horse muck from Incredible Farm. Some of that's true.
