We are back at Church Walk and the work commences almost immediately.
Walter the Plasterer told me I'd have to apply a coat of Thistle Bondit to the deformed walls of the kitchen, where the tiles had been knocked off. This would provide a proper surface on which he could re-plaster.
I had been forewarned about how difficult and messy this process would be. The stuff is like the thickest glue you could imagine which is still spreadable, and it has sand in it. And it's snot-green. We have Joycean snot-green walls.
It has a kind of shabby-chic-cottage-Shaker look.Chris thinks it's the 1980s instant old cottage effect à la Barry Bucknell.
So now we await the artisan plasterer.
