On our first full day in the Lakes we visited Cockermouth. Our first stop was the Wordsworth's family home, which the NT keep in beautiful order.
And in its walled garden there was the old favourite cephalaria, which I first knew at Ash Cottage in Caton.
Later we toured Cumbria north of Keswick, particularly along the coast and visited Silloth. Looking across the Solway firth towards Scotland.
